Rumors regarding Xiaomi’s next flagship device believed to be dubbed as the Mi Note 2 are circulating online, with the latest details suggesting its specifications under the hood.
According to Techno Buffalo, an alleged leaked list of powerful specs from a Weibo tipster, reveals that the smartphone will either sport Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chip or the brand new Snapdragon 823 processor. It may also feature up to 6GB of RAM, maximum of 256GB built-in storage, and a pressure sensitive 3D Touch screen which measures 5.7 inches. The display is touted to be in quad high definition with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution.
Moreover, it may also have a powerful 16-megapixel lens with optical image stabilization for the rear camera made by Sony, specifically the IMX298 sensor. It may be partnered with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The battery may come in with 3,600mAh capacity and capability for fast charging which will supply up to 18 watts.
However, there are also assumptions that the aforementioned specs will be for the Pro version of the gadget. If this comes to fruition, the standard unit is deemed to be offered with a less powerful 4GB RAM and onboard storage which starts at 32GB.
When it comes to pricing, it is predicted to be sold at 2999 Yuan or around $460 per unit.
Earlier reports speculate that the successor to the Mi Note may also sport a curved display similar to Samsung’s Galaxy S7 Edge. Some tech enthusiasts deem that the company which pioneered the design, is apparently ready to sell its breakthrough flexible OLED to its competitors.
Since Xiaomi has yet to comment on the matter, available information should be taken with a grain of salt. More details are expected to be released in the following months as the Chinese-based company has recently completed the launch of the Mi 5.
