Xiaomi’s new and upcoming flagship, the Xiaomi Mi 5, had been in the rumor mill for a long time now. Previously expected to be released in the past on several occasions, the flagship device was always seemingly delayed. Now, following a long thread of rumors and leaks, the device had been listed on an online retailer’s site, but it seemed to be a mistake.
Online retailer Oppomart put the Xiaomi Mi 5 flagship on a listing. While the listing did not offer a purchase chance nor a pre-order, it did give a retail price for the Mi 5 flagship, as well as revealing its full specspowerful specs under the hood.
According the specs given by the said listing, the Xiaomi Mi 5 flagship sports a 5.5-inch screen with 2560×1440 pixels Quad HD resolution and 551 ppi pixel density rate. Just like what most upcoming flagships are rumored to have, the Mi 5 is listed to be running under the new 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset with a 2.5 GHz octa-core processor. It packs a massive 4GB worth of RAM and is available in three different variants depending on the built-in internal storage capacity of the device. The variants are 16GB, 64GB, and 128GB.
As for the camera, it sports a 20-megapixel main rear camera that is coupled with an 8-megapixel front snapper. The device is powered by a 3,800mAh Li-Po battery and is compatible with 4G LTE-FDD bands. It boots on Android Lollipop 5.1 with MIUI 7 on top of it. The listing put the device at $599.
Strangely, the Oppomart listing has been taken down as of writing.
Other specs rumored for the device that were not mentioned on the listing is the inclusion of the fingerprint scanner. The alleged scanner will not be situated on the back of the device. Rather, Xiaomi is said to use a physical home button to embed the fingerprint scanner on it.
