One of the rumors that used to surround Chinese mobile maker Xioami was their alleged plan to make and release a smartphone with dual curved edges.
The said rumor was revived by an alleged leaked live image of the Xiaomi Arch which surfaced online.
According to a report by Android Headlines, the said photo leak showed what seemed to be the previously rumored Xiamoi Arch. The image shows a phone, possibly around 5-inches wide in display size, sporting what looks like the rumored dual curved edges.
But as the site noted, the thick bezel on the screen makes it very unlikely for a dual curved edge design.
While the Chinese mobile company has not denied plans or activities regarding development of dual curved edge phones, what users can hold on to now is the alleged leaked photo of the rumored Xiaomi Arch.
Rumors of the Xiaomi Arch first popped back in the latter part of 2014along with rumors of the Mi4 and Mi 4S. Had older rumors proven true, it could have been the world’s first smartphone with dual-edged display. Back then, only the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge had a curved display design, and only on one side of the screen. Now, as most users know, the title goes to Samsung’s current flagship device, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi Mi 5 is reportedly coming with a bezel-less “edge-to-edge” display, sporting a 5-inch screen with Quad HD display resolution. The said upcoming flagship is rumored to be coming with a bigger variant, the Mi 5 Plus. The Mi 5 is expected to launch next month, while the Mi 5 Plus is rumored to be coming November this year.
