The long rumored Xbox Two or whatever it may end up being officially called by Microsoft is expected to be unveiled next week as part of the possible announcements coming from the tech giant. Their upcoming press conference is scheduled for Monday, June 13, will be part of the prestigious Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles, California.
In a rumor roundup report by The Verge, Microsoft is expected to unveil at least two new versions of the Xbox console one that is a slimmer Xbox One, dubbed as the Xbox Slim; and a more powerful Xbox console, which is expected to be the long rumored Xbox Two console. Both versions are said to launch within the span of a year.
In line with this, Microsoft is also expected to boost the morale of the Xbox system and once again attempt to overcome the competition. Despite its popularity, it is considered as the underdog console when compared to Sony Computer Entertainment’s PlayStation 4 console.
As for the specs of these new consoles and what they would boast of if or when they eventually come, the Xbox One Slim could come in as the slimmest Xbox console that the tech giant has ever released. Despite being lightweight, the rumored console is said to have support for 4K Ultra HD gaming. The console is also said to be 40 percent lighter compared to the current Xbox One system but with double the memory capacity with 2 TB worth of storage.
The bigger and more powerful one, meanwhile, is called in the rumor mill as the Xbox Scorpio, which is the major “upgrade” of the console system. This is also said to be coming with support for 4K Ultra HD gaming, as well as support for virtual reality gaming. The console was also tipped to have a more powerful graphics processing unit and more powerful processing capabilities.
Microsoft’s E3 2016 presentation is set for Monday, June 13, at exactly 9:30 a.m. PT or 12:30 a.m. ET.
