Xbox One Backwards Compatibility for February: list tipped to include 'Halo Wars,' 'Black Ops 1'

Xbox One console owners may be delighted to find out that more Xbox 360 titles are rumored to be featured in the gaming platform’s recent Backwards Compatibility program.

According to Express, it seems like “Halo Wars” is heading to the final testing in order to see if it will be made available reportedly alongside “GTA: San Andreas” and “Bioshock Infinite.”

Although there is no official announcement made by Microsoft yet, the report shared that some players were able to spot the game on the Xbox One Marketplace and screenshots have been taken with the apparent file size of 6.43GB for the download.

Meanwhile, there are speculations suggesting that “Black Ops 1” may also be launched in the program sometime this month. An alleged exchange between between a game enthusiast and a member of the Xbox Support team seemingly confirmed the request of fans to include the title.

There are also reports claiming that some users located in Spain were able to download “Blacks Ops 1 Annihilation pack” in their Xbox One. However, since there is no official word yet from the company, available assumptions should be taken with a grain of salt.

While players wait, they may get their hands on the confirmed roster of free games available either on Xbox One or Xbox 360 for the Games with Gold subscription.

Xbox One games include “Hand of Fate” which is accessible for the entire month of February and “Styx: Master of Shadows” from Feb. 16 to March 15; while Xbox 360 games are “Sacred Citadel” starting Feb. 1 to 15 and “Gears of War 2” from Feb. 16 to 29.

Microsoft also revealed that a new feature dubbed Community Calendar App has been rolled out and is now live on Xbox.

“The Community Calendar provides a destination to help you easily discover hundreds of upcoming events, get involved and meet other gamers, game-creators, and even some of us here at Xbox. The Community Calendar also introduces new programming, as well as brings back some old favorites,” said senior global manager, Mike Lavin.

Some of the events listed are Community Spotlights, Game with Fames, Gatherings, Livestreams, Tournaments, Game Launches, Free Stuff, and Challenges and Contests.
