October comes early for Xbox Games with Gold subscribers as the highly anticipated titles that will be free next month have already been announced.
As per usual, Microsoft Xbox’s director of programming Larry Hryb, more popularly known for his Major Nelson online persona, announced the roster via his website.
“For the month of October, Xbox Live Gold members will receive four new free games two on Xbox One and two on Xbox 360 as part of the Games with Gold program. You can play both Xbox 360 titles on your Xbox One with Backward Compatibility,” he wrote.
“Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings,” which is usually on sale for $19.99, will be available as a free download for Xbox One throughout October. The game, which was developed by independent studio Metalhead Software, can be played by one to four players in which they can play together or against each other. It was just released last March but its original iteration, “Super Mega Baseball,” has been in the market since 2014.
“The Escapists” also joins the October library for Xbox One. But different from the aforementioned title, it will be available a bit later starting on Oct. 16. The title, however, will be free to download until Nov. 15. It is a strategy role-playing video game which was developed by Mouldy Toof Studios and released last year.
Xbox 360 players, on the other hand, also get two titles including “MX vs STV Reflex” which will go live at the start of next month and will be available until Oct. 15. It will come alongside “I Am Alive” which will roll out on Oct. 16 until the end of the month.
It can be remembered that just this week, rampant rumors suggested that the Xbox Games with Gold free games roster for October 2016 would include a handful of Triple-A titles. Unfortunately, not one from “Watch Dogs,” “Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag” or even “Iron Man 2” was announced as part of the featured titles.
