Xbox One owners who have also signed up for Xbox Live and its Games with Gold program can look forward to a great title in the second half of this month.
This is because, as reported by Christian Today, the Lara Croft title “Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition” is available for free as part of their membership in the program.
According to an article by MNR Daily, the game is available for downloading from now until October 15.
The article noted that “The Definitive Edition” is an update to the 2013 game, “Tomb Raider,” which was basically a reboot of the hit series that started with the first PlayStation console in the 90s. In addition to having better graphics, rendered using next-gen console technology, “The Definitive Edition” also comes complete with all the downloadable content (DLC) packs released for the original 2013 release.
The game was originally available for PC and Mac OSX, as well as for the previous-generation consoles Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
MNR Daily noted that Microsoft’s Xbox division may have made the game available as part of the Games with Gold program to promote the upcoming Tomb Raider title, “Rise of the Tomb Raider.”
Other games available for the second half of September, the Gospel Herald reported, is Crysis 3, which is available for Xbox 360 players.
The game lets players take on the role of Prophet, a former spec-ops soldier in the game’s universe, and guide him through battles with alien invaders and the human CELL corporation.
Unlike Tomb Raider: The Definitive Edition, Crysis 3 is only available until September 30, Gospel Herald said.
Tomb Raider: The Definitive Edition and Crysis 3 replaced the side-scrolling adventure game, Deer God, for Xbox One, and the World War II flight simulator Battlestations: Pacific for the Xbox 360. Both titles were available from September 1 until September 15.
