With both Microsoft and Sony releasing their November free games lineup for subscribers of Xbox Games with Gold and PlayStation Plus, respectively, some players have deemed that one of the offerings seems to fare better than the other.
It can be recalled that players of Microsoft consoles will receive “Super Dungeon Bros” from Nov. 1 to 30 and “Murdered Soul Suspect” from Nov. 16 to Dec. 15 on Xbox One. Meanwhile, those who have the previous generation platform, Xbox 360, will have “Monkey Island: SE” from Nov. 1 to 15 and “Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon” from Nov. 16 to 30. The latter two titles will also be playable on the Xbox One through the Backward Compatibility feature.
On the other hand, Sony recently announced that similar to previous releases, two games will be playable in each of their consoles and handheld device totaling to six titles.
These include “Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture” and “The Deadly Tower of Monsters” for PlayStation 4; “Dirt 3” and “Costume Quest 2” for PlayStation 3; and “Letter Quest Remastered” for PS Vita with PS4 cross-buy and “Pumped BMX+” for the said device as well, with both PS4 and PS3 cross-buy. All of them are expected to go live on the first Tuesday of the month.
When comparing the two subscription programs, PS Plus’ list seems to have acquired more negative reviews from the players. Some complained that they are apparently not getting the maximum benefits of their subscription fees based on the company’s free titles in the recent months.
However, Express.co.uk noted that if the listings are being compared based on the kind of games for the latest generation platforms, PS4 takes the crown for the second month running. Based on Metacritic ratings, “Murdered Soul Suspect” got a score of 51 while “Super Dungeon Bros” does not have any official reviews. “Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture” has a 78 rating and “The Deadly Tower of Monsters” attained 72.
