With September nearly at hand, Microsoft announced its lineup of free games for Xbox Live Gold subscribers.
“Forza Motorsport 5: Game of the Year Edition” is the first game on the list. The game was originally the launch title for Xbox One, and will now be offered for free for Gold subscribers. Also, this promo will be available for the entire month of September, reported Gamespot.
Next is the “Oxenfree” published by Night School Studio back in January of 2016. “Oxenfree” is a mystery graphic adventure game that touches on the supernatural. Many also praised it for its effective presentation of the characters.
Meanwhile, Microsoft also gave the Xbox 360 its share of free games for the month. From Sept. 1 to 15, Gold members can avail of “Hydro Thunder Hurricane” for free. Vector Unit developed the game, and it featured boat racing action. Also, it initially rolled out back in July of 2010.
Another game for Xbox 360 is “Battlefield 3,” which becomes available from Sept. 16 until the end of the month. Originally launched in 2011 by developer EA DICE, the game offers first-person shooting action. Additionally, it was a direct sequel to “Battlefront 2” that came out in 2005.
In other news, Microsoft announced in a press release an achievement reached by Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition. They revealed that the console became the fastest-selling pre-order among all of the consoles they released in the past. “Within just a few days, we saw record-setting sell-out times and are currently sold out in many countries around the world,” said Mike Nichols, Corporate Vice President of Marketing for Xbox in the presser.
“You, our biggest fans, have pre-ordered more Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition consoles in the first five days than any Xbox ever,” Nichols added.
The Project Scorpio Edition is only available via pre-order. It also includes some freebies that do not come with the standard version. These include a different design and a vertical stand.
The Xbox One X standard edition goes on sale on Nov. 7 for $499 USD.
