Gal Gadot’s “Wonder Woman” movie has been filming for more than four months now and there is a possibility for Henry Cavill to lend his presence in the movie for a Superman cameo role. According to reports, Cavill teases the possibility for him to be garbed in his blue tights and red cape and fly in the first-ever standalone film feature of the Amazonian warrior princess.
“In ‘Wonder Woman,’ I haven’t heard anything yet, but watch that space. And in anything else, I don’t know just yet if anything else gets shot between,” Cavill said in his interview with the Brazilian newspaper Super Interessante.
While a cameo role in the “Wonder Woman” movie is still up in the air and might just happen, Cavill confirms that his Superman will not be seen in the upcoming “Suicide Squad” movie, unlike Ben Affleck’s “Batman.”
If Cavill’s Superman indeed does a cameo in the “Wonder Woman” movie, some DC fans can only speculate as how his role will be woven into the story. For one thing, it’s common knowledge among Wonder Woman fans that the upcoming live-action film feature of Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman has a 1918 World War 1 period setting. Hence, it is possible that he will show up in the present-day latter part of the film, wherein the Amazonian warrior princess emerges from a hiatus and come to the rescue of Batman against Darkseid in the highly-anticipated “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” movie, which hits the theaters on the 25th of this month.
With this, there is a great probability that it is not only Cavill who will do a cameo in the “Wonder Woman” movie but also Affleck as Batman. It is also very likely that the movie will trumpet the formation of the Justice League as “Justice League: Part 1” will be shown five months after Gal Gadot’s “Wonder Woman” hits the theaters.
“Wonder Woman” movie is slated for a June 23, 2017 showing date while “Justice League: Part 1” opens on Nov. 17, 2017 in U.S. movie theaters.
