Deadpool is becoming popular nowadays with his crazy antics. He also recently promoted cancer awareness using the tagline “Touch Yourself.” However, before that, the Merc with a Mouth threw shade at arguably one of the most iconic superheroes to date, Wolverine. In the recent years, viewers have seen a couple of actors play different versions of Batman,Superman, and Spider-Man, but since “X-Men” came to prominence with its debut movie in 2002, there has only been one Wolverine, and that is Hugh Jackman.
After 16 years, the Australian actor is looking to forever “remove” his claws with a final standalone movie coming out in 2017. Meanwhile, Yahoo Movies asked Jackman if he is game for a Deadpool-Wolverine rematch in “Deadpool 2.”
“I’ve never thought about it till now, but doing something with Ryan he’s awesome that’s always attractive to me. But I think you’ve probably got several other people lined up to play [Wolverine],” Jackman replied after claiming that the Canadian mutant will definitely beat Deadpool “100 percent.”
A movie featuring Wolverine and Deadpool might be possible, but it seems like Bryan Singer and Simon Kinberg do not think so. A report by Digital Spy revealed that the two big bosses of the “X-Men” franchise believes that no one can replace Jackman as the gruff, cigar-smoking mutant.
“I do think you would want to figure out how to tell more Wolverine stories. So either we would try to entice Hugh to come back and eat more chicken and work out for a few months, or we would have to figure out a creative way to move forward. Honestly, I can’t imagine anybody else playing the part, and there’s not too many characters I can say that for,” Kinberg was quoted in saying.
