'Wolverine 3' news: production has started for the R-rated move

With “X-Men: Apocalypse” expected to come out in a couple of days, it seems as though the franchise is ready to focus on another upcoming film “Wolverine 3.”

It was revealed that production has begun for “Wolverine 3,” which stars Hugh Jackman as the iconic character once again. This is Jackman’s last movie as the Wolverine, which made fans curious about what will happen to the popular “X-Men” character.

According to Collider, the executive producer of the series, Simon Kinberg, shared some details about the upcoming film during the press day for “X-Men: Apocalypse.” He confirmed that the cast members of “Wolverine 3” have already started filming. Kinberg also teased that fans will get to see Wolverine in a different light when the movie gets released.

Along with Jackman, fans are hoping to see Patrick Stewart in the upcoming film. However, Kinberg was not able to confirm the details regarding Stewart’s appearance in “Wolverine 3.” Meanwhile, he did explain that the movie will present an interesting setting and tone.

He said, “I’m not sure what I’m allowed to say about that. I will agree with you that Patrick Stewart was rumored to be a part of that film. It takes place in the future, and as you and others have reported, it is an R-rated movie. It’s violent, it’s kind of like a western in its tone. It’s just a very cool, different film.”

Aside from that, Kinsberg stated that the upcoming film will take place in the future. This has created confusion among the fans since the previously released film “X-Men: Days of Future Past” left the cinematic universe in a strange situation.

Nevertheless, fans are excited to see Jackman back in the big screen. It was revealed that he will be joined by Boyd Holbrooke, Richard E. Grant, Stephen Merchant, and Eriq Lasalle.

“Wolverine 3” is expected to hit theaters on March 3, 2017.
