The much awaited “The Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone” DLC will finally be released today (October 13) but only for the digital edition as logistics problems have caused a delay in the physical edition of the game for a few days.
The official Projekt RED post read: “It has come to our attention that, due to logistical problems, customers will be unable to obtain the physical edition of the game for several days after launch. We are working with GameStop to fix this situation as soon as possible and deeply apologize for the inconvenience. “
“The Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone” DLC involves 10 hours of new adventures by the character Geralt who needs to overcome the Man of Glass and travel to No Man’s land and Oxenfort to complete his mission. The DLC will also introduce players to Runewords, which will give players a new experience of trying out different strategies to achieve their objective.”
However, not all players will get access to the DLC.
According to Realty Today, players will not be required to complete the game before accessing the DLC but they will need to reach at least Level 30.
Along with the release of the expansion pack, Projekt Red is also releasing limited edition decks of Gwent cards through the Gwent Redeem site, where instructions on getting the limited edition merchandise are made available.
Meanwhile, “The Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone” follow up, “Blood and Wine” which was originally intended for the 1st quarter of 2016 will also be facing some delays in its release.
The studio adjusted the release date from the first quarter to first half of 2016.
According to a Gamespot report, Project RED replied that they will be communicating further on the exact launch date of “Blood and Wine” at a later point in time.
“Blood and Wine” will take Geralt to the region of Toussaint, and introduce players to new content, gear and enemies, all done with the maximum attention to detail and quality.
