'Wentworth' season 5 air date, spoilers: Series likely to premiere in April 2017; Will Allie avenge her lover's death?

“Wentworth” fans are dying to find out what’s going to happen in season 5 now that Bea Smith (Danielle Cormack) is out of the picture. However, they will have to wait a little longer because sources are saying the upcoming season will likely air in April next year.

Months after Joan “The Freak” Ferguson (Pamela Rabe) stabbed Bea to death in the season 4 finale, fans are starting to speculate that Allie Novak (Kate Jenkinson) will gather Bea’s friends to plot their revenge. However, Allie may possibly join her lover in the afterlife when she puts herself in danger just so she can have her revenge. It is also rumored that Allie may turn to drugs to cope with Bea’s death.

So, who is going to be the top dog this season now that Bea is gone? Reports say the top candidate is probably the person who took down the previous top dog herself, Ferguson. Others believe that Allie may be a candidate; however, her person problems will likely derail whatever plans she has.

Reports also say Karen “Kaz” Proctor (Tammy Macintosh) and Sonia Stevens (Sigrid Thornton) will also be candidates for the position. However, it is believed that Sonia will become the top dog since she is a supporter of Bea and a fan favorite.

New characters will reportedly be added to the show for the upcoming season, and sources say some of them will be transgender. One of these new characters may come in and become the prison’s top dog as well.

Meanwhile, rumors of Nicole da Silva, the actress who plays Franky Doyle, leaving the show turned out to be false as Silva told news.com.au that she would be able to juggle her commitments on both “Doctor Doctor” and “Wentworth” season 5.

Readers are advised to take everything with a grain of salt since SoHo has yet to reveal any official details regarding “Wentworth” season 5.
