The last two episodes of season one ‘Wayward Pines’ revealed some of the darkest secrets of the mysterious town of Idaho, and in the coming episode, Ethan’s life could be in danger for possessing the information he holds.

In the last week’s episode, Kate and her husband, Harold were seen plotting to get to know what was beyond the fence surrounding the town. Meanwhile, Theresa went on to know more about the plot 33, as her real estate office allowed her to access the information. And in a shocking twist, Peter commits suicide, not before leaving behind a hint that there could be a way out.

Also, last week Ethan, who was given a tour by Dr. Jenkins, finds out the truth about the human aberrations. He also finds about how Dr. Jenkins tried to save the other humans by placing them in the cryo tubes when they were brought into Wayward Pines.

In other news, the show, given the huge response for its season one, may get renewed for a season two. Speaking to TV Line about the possibility of the series renewal, Chad Hodge, the executive producer of the show, said, “There’s a hint of [future possibilities], but ‘Wayward Pines’ was always designed to be just these 10 episodes. So the promise that we’ve been making – which is that there’s a beginning, middle and end in these 10 episodes – is a real promise and we deliver on it.”

The synopsis for the next episode, titled, ‘Betrayal’ is as follows:

“After discovering the truth behind Wayward Pines, Ethan finds a bomb planted in his car, which makes him question people whom he thought he could trust. Meanwhile, Kate and Harold have a fertility consult meeting with Nurse Pam and Ben and Amy’s (guest star Sarah Jeffery) relationship heats up.”

‘Wayward Pines’ airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. EDT on Fox.
