Fans of the game that turned hacking and cracking into an art form may now get more excited as evidence of the sequel to Ubisoft’s 2014 action adventure open world game “Watch Dogs” just surfaced online.
Apparently, the studio sent a gift box containing “Watch Dogs 2” paraphernalia and materials to theRadBrad, chief executive officer (CEO) of tRB Productions and a YouTube personality with more than 6 million subscribers. Among the contents of the gift box were a pair of “Watch Dogs 2” themed Ray Ban sunglasses, as indicated by theRadBrad’s post on his Twitter account.
Accompanied by the caption “Thanks @Ubisoft for the Watch Dogs 2 gift box,” the image showed a leather Ray Ban sunglasses case with the “Watch Dogs 2” title written on the flap. The leather case was propped against a larger item which is presumably the actual gift box, with what might very well be the “Watch Dogs 2” logo plastered on it.
Stylized to make it look as if it was spray painted, the logo looked much like the original “Watch Dogs'” albeit some differences. The alleged new logo featured the same “V” superimposed on a “W,” only this time there was no horizontal line running through the middle which made the middle look like an “A” or a triangle. From what could be seen in the picture, there was also presumably no circle outside the main logo. Instead, there was a small “2” painted onto the lower right corner.
With this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) creeping closer, the gift box suggests that Ubisoft might be making some moves behind the scenes in preparation for a surprise announcement at the event. Evidence towards the existence of “Watch Dogs 2” is divided, with reports suggesting that it will either come sometime next year before April 2017 or this year during the holidays as the company’s substitute due to the absence of an “Assassin’s Creed” installment.
Either way, players might finally get some news when E3 2016 starts on June 14.
