Vivo Xplay5 release date: March 1 launch date confirmed


Chinese mobile developer company vivo recently announced the official launch date for tis long rumored new flagship device, the vivo Xplay5 smartphone. The device will launch on March 1 and may come with a set of specifications and features that will bring great innovation to the smartphone line up of the company.

According to a report by Gizmo China, vivo announced via its official Weibo account that their new flagship device, called the vivo Xplay5, will be officially launched on March 1, a few days after the upcoming Mobile World Congress.

In the same report, the company revealed that they will be holding a special launch event for their new flagship device at the famous Beijing Water Cube Center, also known as the National Aquatics Center. The event will start at exactly 7:30 P.M, Chinese local time.

As for the specs, it was previously confirmed through teasers from the company that the upcoming Xplay5 flagship would be having a dual curved screen. The company outs it in term of calling the Xplay5’s display as something that is “borderless.”

With vivo previously hinting that the device will feature a number of innovations when it comes to display, materials, and other technology, the rumor mill is suggesting on a set of specifications for the device that may seem to be too far-fetched at a first glance.

In a previous report, a leak revealed what was said to be the specifications of the upcoming vivo Xplay5, with most of them being “too good to be true.” These include a whopping 6GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 820 chipset, and a display resolution of 2K.

As for the camera, the leak said that the vivo Xplay5 will be having a 31-megapixel main rear camera with a color temperature LED flash. The device is said to be powered by a 4,000mAh battery with purported solar charging features and waterproof technology.
