Adam Copeland has been recently added to the cast of History Channel’s hit periodical action-drama “Vikings” for its upcoming season 5.
According to Deadline, the former World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Superstar Edge has landed the recurring role of Ketill Flatnose. The character is described to be a fierce and brave warrior chosen by Floki (Gustaf Skarsgrd) to be one of the leaders of the Nordic warriors. The Viking party is intent on travelling to Iceland in order to set up a community in the country.
Copeland joins previously announced newcomer Jonathan Rhys Meyers. Details regarding the part of the “The Tudors” alum are still being kept under wraps for the meantime.
As fans wait for more information about the installment, they can first tune in to the slated return of the second half of season 4. During this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, some of the regular mainstays teased to Entertainment Weekly what is in store for the rest of the run.
Actress Katheryn Winnick stated that it is no secret her character Lagertha is alive since she has been spotted filming in Ireland. However, the shieldmaiden will be in “a different place in her life” as she makes a comeback.
She also promised that there will be a dramatic face-off between Lagertha and Queen Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland). “It’s going to be a cat fight. The two power women go head to head. It’s a really interesting scene because you don’t expect what happens,” she hinted.
Meanwhile, her son Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) will seemingly be enjoying his journey this time around. Ludwig said that he will be developing a tight bond with Floki. “Floki and Bjorn end up going to the Mediterranean, and they work on their tans a little bit. You’re definitely going to see Floki and Bjorn’s relationship flourish,” the actor who portrays the first-born warrior revealed.
Season 5 of “Vikings” will reportedly have 20 episodes and it is expected to premiere sometime in 2017. Meanwhile, season 4B is predicted to air in the fall.
