UFC news: McGregor, Holm co-headlining 'UFC 197' in March

It looks like UFC is looking to keep things rolling as “UFC 197″ is shaping to be one for the books. Arguably, two of the most well known superstars of the league Holly Holm and Conor McGregor, will be co-headlining the said event on March in Las Vegas Nevada.

Holm, who did a stunning job against Ronda Rousey in “UFC 193” has spiraled into success after she hit the former undefeated champion with her infamous head kick that sent the former almost unconscious to the canvas. When news broke out, followers of the sport went into frenzy as no one has foreseen the situation. Rousey, then, was UFC’s Bantamweight Champion, and Holm just joined in 2014. Now, she is facing a new opponent in Meisha Tate, who has already expressed her eagerness to fight Holm.

What makes this more interesting is that Tate is one of the few opponents who put Rousey to work.

On the other hand, McGregor had a fantastic year, capping it off with a 13-second demolition job on Jose Aldo. Similar to what Holm faced when she went up against Rousey, Aldo was on a roll as he remained undefeated in the last 10 years. Only the perfectly timed punch from McGregor sent him crashing down.

McGregor was offered to fight Frankie Edgar and put his belt on the line, but the Irish man has already locked his sights on Rafael Dos Anjos. If McGregor wins, he would be sporting two titles in two different weight divisions.
