'True Detective' season 3 spoilers: Show under development? fans suggest improvements

Details regarding the highly anticipated third season of “True Detective” are being kept under wraps by the production team, but it seems like it may be under development.

According to reports, actress Olivia Munn seemingly shared a massive clue about the filming. She posted a photo of herself on Instagram alongside Jillian Bell from “The Night Before,” Jason Bateman from “Arrested Development,” and Abby Lee from “Mad Max.” The most interesting part of her post is the caption that read, “True Detective Season 3 #officexmasparty” which reportedly sent fans into a frenzy. However, she did not further disclose details about the show.

Some fans suggest that if the series comes back, the narrative should take into account having a lead character with steel determination similar to past seasons, but they should also learn about the errors deemed to have been part of the plot. For new installments, viewers are said to be expecting having a protagonist that is inherently good at keeping things together.

Meanwhile, others speculated that the script may be further developed from the seeming lackluster one seen in season 2. Head of Anonymous Content Steve Golin stated, “Look, I think that the scripts weren’t as good, and Nic (Pizzolatto) felt like he really didn’t want to go with the one-director plan, which was something that I think really added an extra value to it… sometimes you have a good [season], sometimes you don’t.”

“But Nic is wildly talented, but I think that this one just wasn’t as good… Now we’re gonna do season 3 and I think that one will be better,” he aadded.

HBO President Michael Lombardo previously shared during last year’s Television Critics Association that a new season for the series is possible if creator Pizzolatto is also willing to do one. “If [Nic Pizzolatto] wanted to do another season, I told him our door is open. I’d love to do another season with him…I think he’s an enormously talented writer, and I have already called him and said, ‘Nic, if you want to do a Season 3, let’s start talking,” he elaborated.

More information regarding “True Detective” is expected to be revealed in the following months.
