A lot of rumors have been circulating around the production of the latest installment in the robotic franchise, “Transformers 5,” and among them is the possible teaming up of Michael Bay, Megan Fox and Shia LaBeouf.

Although Mark Wahlberg previously mentioned that he is “committed to doing a couple more [movies]” after starring in “Transformers: Age of Extinction,” reports claim that director Michael Bay may be interested in having Fox and LaBeouf in the movie.

According to Food World News, Bay is not officially confirmed yet to direct. But as the driving creative force of the franchise, he is said to be aware that Fox is a major factor in the box-office success of previous films, the same way she contributed to making the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” a hit among viewers.

The report added that bringing LaBeouf back as a matured lead character may also make the story have a different dynamic.

LaBeouf headlined the first trilogy before the cast changed to the combination of Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz and Jack Reynor.

All of these are speculations as of the moment but with Paramount Pictures International senior vice-president Edward Ryan revealing that June 24, 2016 is the release date, more news is expected to be heard soon from the cast and crew.

Meanwhile, Wahlberg reportedly confirmed to return to the movie, with screenwriter Ehren Kruger and hinted that Bay may also come back.

“I don’t know the status of Transformers 5. Just that Akiva Goldsman and those guys are starting to write and break stories, and stuff like that. But Michael Bay is in Malta shooting Benghazi, and I’m in New Orleans shooting Deepwater. We’ll get together when he gets back. Yes I think he’ll direct it,” the actor said.

Kruger meanwhile told Collider that they are currently thinking of the plot but it still depends on what Bay wants the story to become, “In terms of the Transformer universe we’ve had a lot of conversations about where we’d like to go going forward. Assuming the fans respond to this movie and assuming it’s successful we’re certainly laying the building blocks for some other stories we have in the back of our heads… I have a Transformers 5 in my head. Whether that will be what Transformers 5 is or I will work on it, who knows at this point?”
