Rumors have it that the next installment in the robotic franchise, “Transformers 5,” may be the last one in which fan-favorite Optimus Prime headlines.
According to Movie Web, with the speculations circling the internet that the leader of Autobots will head to the cosmos to search for the creator of all Transformers, the so-called Quintessons, his journey may not end well leading to his alleged retirement.
He may be replaced by a new set of Autobots which is spearheaded by Optimus’s chief lieutenant Ultra Magnus. There may also be five robots, mixed of the good and the villainous Decepticons, that will make their debut to the big screen such as Blitzwing, Scourge, Cyclonus, Override and Red Alert.
The report added that Red Alert is a paranoid Autobot “Fire Chief” who has seen many reincarnations through the years. These include being a Fire Truck, a female surgeon, and having to transform into Lamborghini. While Override is a Triggerbot that takes the form of a blue and red 1980s’ Suzuki touring motorcycle. It remains to be seen who will be the second in command.
Moreover, joining the iniquitous side are Cyclonus, created by Unicron and loyalist of Galvatron who can become a spaceship or a helicopter; Scourge, the leader of the deadly huntsmen Sweeps and Galvatron’s tracker; and Blitzwing, described to be a psycho Triple Changer who takes the shape of a Tannk.
When it comes to the human characters, Mark Wahlberg is the only one confirmed to reprise his role as Cade Yeager from the blockbuster “Transformers: Age of Extinction, while heading the writer’s room is the highly acclaimed scriptwriter Akiva Goldsman.
There are also assumptions that director Michael Bay will only produce the movie as he has yet to comment if he is taking the helm once again.
Transformers 5 is slated to premiere sometime during the summer of 2017.
