Toyota RAV4 Hybrid arrival in US showrooms expected fall 2015

Car and SUV aficionados in the United States might not have to wait long to get their hands on Toyota’s new RAV4 hybrid.

According to a report by Christian Today, the RAV4 Hybrid will be hitting the US markets beginning fall of this year.

Toyota gave the world a look at the new RAV4 Hybrid in April, at the New York Auto Show. However, it has held back on the actual details and specifications of the SUV until lately.

Yibada said that the RAV4 Hybrid will have an eco-friendly engine. According to its report, the engine will be a 2.5-liter engine that has four cylinders and employs the Atkinson cycle. The article stated impressive acceleration capabilities, with the vehicle allegedly able to reach a speed of 62 miles per hour (mph) in just a span of eight seconds.

Boasting a fuel economy of 33/30 and an average consumption of 31 miles per gallon of gas, the RAV4 Hybrid will also be equipped with specially made noise insulation measures and LED lights at both the front and rear, Yibada added. It will also feature improvements to its front bumper and grille.

Indian Autos Blog also revealed a few changes in the interior of the RAV4 Hybrid.

According to an entry at the website, the new Toyota SUV will feature both a 4.2-inch TFT multi-information display in the dashboard as well as a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment display. For comfort, the steering wheel is now wrapped in leather.

One of the remarkable changes highlighted in the Indian Autos Blog entry is the use of four cameras in the RAV4 Hybrid’s body to give the driver a panoramic view of the car’s surroundings. The resulting image is viewable in the Bird’s Eye View Monitor found in the vehicle’s interior.

Reports also state that the RAV4 Hybrid will also be equipped with Toyota’s Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel-Drive System.
