Not much is known right now regarding the third season of “Tokyo Ghoul.” The most important question is: Is there really a “Tokyo Ghoul” season 3? Has it been confirmed? Dozens of reports have been saying that it is indeed confirmed and Madhouse is allegedly taking over the production of the show’s third season from Studio Pierrot. But the two studios never released any statements confirming that this is true.
Several bloggers and publications have been saying that they heard the news from “official sources,” so who are these people? Are they working for one of the studios? Right now, this is just a rumor that has somehow managed to circulate around the internet for over a year. In fact, it has been an endless cycle of rumors ever since Anime Maru posted an article last year.
The problem is, people who believe that the reports there are true probably didn’t read the disclaimer on the site’s “About Us” page. “Anime Maru is a satirical publication. Nothing on this site should be interpreted as factual nor as a claim to fact.” Did anyone ever try fact-checking first before believing something is true? It’s a satirical publication!
So, for over a year, dozens or even hundreds of reports have been saying the same thing over and over again. Just take a look at what was mentioned in those reports and the one on Anime Maru and you will realize that the site is definitely the source of all the rumors. Whoever runs the site must be enjoying all the damaged he or she has done. Anime Maru is probably a highly cited website by now.
Fans probably won’t mind a third season even though “Tokyo Ghoul ?A” did poorly due to the fact that it deviated from its source material. But right now, nothing has been verified, so people who have been anticipating the release of “Tokyo Ghoul” season 3 will have to temper their expectations.
