One lucky Lotto player in New Hampshire has won the $560 million Powerball jackpot Saturday night with a ticket that matches all of the six drawn numbers correctly.
The winning combination of numbers for the multi-million dollar prize was 12, 29, 30, 33, and 61, with a Powerball number of 26. As of Sunday morning, the sole winner has yet to come forward.
New Hampshire Lottery executive director Charlie McIntyre offered a piece of advice to the anonymous winner. “Winning such an incredible amount of money is truly life-changing, but before the winner begins making plans to buy an expensive yacht or a mansion, I would encourage him or her to take a moment to process what winning this prize means,” he said.
According to Maura McCann, a spokeswoman with the New Hampshire Lottery, the winning ticket was sold at the Reeds Ferry Market in Merrimack, New Hampshire. Sam Safa, the owner of the over a century-old store said he doesn’t know the identity of the winner, but hopes it’s one of his regular customers.
“I’m very excited and overwhelmed,” Safa said, before adding that he feels that he himself had won. The store will be getting a $75,000 bonus for selling the lucky ticket.
The huge win comes only one day after a ticket in Florida won $450 million in the Mega Millions jackpot that was drawn Friday. The winning ticket in the Mega Millions jackpot was sold at a 7-Eleven convenience store in Port Richey, Florida, which will be getting a $100,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket. Similar, to the Powerball winner, Mega Millions winner’s identity has not been revealed yet.
The $560 million Powerball prize is the eighth largest lottery jackpot in the United States. In January 2016, three tickets won a massive jackpot of $1.6 billion. In August, a sole ticket sold in Massachusetts won a $758.7 million Powerball jackpot.
