'Thor: Ragnarok' updates: Kevin Feige confirms new places will be introduced in MCU via new film

While Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) will be going agaimst each other in “Captain America: Civil War,” their Avenger pals, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) will be fighting a different fight on a different planet in “Thor Ragnarok.”

Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios President, revealed some new tidbits on the God of Thunder’s third standalone movie saying that new places will be introduced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe via the film.

“I don’t think people will read into that title alone [regarding] what the movie’s going to be. It’s going to be, perhaps, as totally different from the two prior Thor movies as ‘Winter Soldier’ was from the first Captain America. We want to take it to new places, we’ve got new characters that will show how big we’re swinging on this. And we have a Hulk,” Feige says in his interview with Empire via website UPROXX.

He finished by saying that “The film takes place within the cosmos primarily which is to say, frankly, very little Earth.”

The green superhero is slated to accompany Thor back to Odin in the movie. As of now, there is still no clear linkage on why Bruce Banner will end up in the galaxy. The only link that can be assumed is that Thor needs the Doctor’s help in terms of his scientific genius capabilities. This is further solidified by a report from website Cinema Blend which said that the forthcoming movie “Doctor Strange” will explain the idea of The Hulk in outer space. Played by Academy Award nominee, Benedict Cumberbatch, Doctor Strange is also renowned in the science and medicine world being a top class neurosurgeon.

“Thor: Ragnarok” is set to drop on July 28, 2017.
