“Thor: Ragnarok” has been the topics of numerous plot and character rumors since last year. Recently, Mark Ruffalo may have accidentally let slip some major spoilers about the film.
Entertainment Tonight Online recently caught up with Ruffalo during the BAFTA Awards Season Tea Party last Saturday where he was asked a couple of questions regarding the third standalone movie of the God of Thunder.
When he was asked about Cate Blanchett being in the movie, Ruffalo said, “I’m so thrilled. I saw her at the Governors’ banquet here and heard that maybe she was circling, they were talking to her about the part, so I ran up to her and I was like, ‘Please, please, please make this work!'” he revealed. Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner/Hulk will be joining Thor on his journey back to outer space as Marvel CEO, Kevin Feige, confirmed that there is little Earth in the movie.
“She’s just one of the best, and to have her play a baddie is going to be really exciting,” he even added making fans assume that the Academy Award winner is the much awaited villain everyone was talking about. This solidifies earlier rumors that the team behind “Thor: Ragnarok” is actually looking to add more female characters in the movie as well as a new villain.
Blanchett, for her part, has been dodging questions about the Marvel movie in her recent interviews. One incident was when she appeared in “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and host Jimmy Kimmel asked if she will be in it. The actress coyly said yes, but jokingly added that her role will be of Thor, since fellow Australian actor, Chris Hemsworth is busy. Hemsworth has been playing the title character since 2011.
While this is still unconfirmed news, Blanchett playing a villain is indeed interesting to see when “Thor: Ragnarok” drops on Nov. 3, 2017.
