What AMC’s popular post-apocalyptic television series “The Walking Dead” brought to its audience in the season 6 finale is what many consider as the best cliffhanger of the year. The horror show’s upcoming seventh season is certainly one of the most anticipated in television, especially with the question of who really did new villain Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) kill in the finale.
The cast and crew of the series will be attending San Diego Comic-Con this weekend, which is probably the reason why AMC and the showrunners haven’t been really totally engaging in opening up information about the new season. There have been promotional images along the way, highlighted by a series of character photos posted on Twitter earlier in the week, where 11 characters are showcased as the possible victims of Negan.
Per Entertainment Weekly, the images included main characters in Rick (Andrew Lincoln), Daryl (Norman Reedus), Maggie (Lauren Cohan), Carl (Chandler Riggs), Glenn (Steven Yeun), and Glenn (Steven Yeun). In an interview with the same publication, executive producer Greg Nicotero revealed that the victim will be known in the premiere of the new season. “Yes, who was at the receiving end of Negan’s bat will be revealed in the first episode,” he confirmed.
The San Diego Comic-Con panel for “The Walking Dead” is scheduled on Friday, July 22 at about 1 pm PT. For those who are attending the event, the panel will be at Hall H of the San Diego Convention Center and the network is also going to host a booth with “The Walking Dead” theme.
The post-apocalyptic TV drama is led by Lincoln’s Rick, who stars as the leader of a group of humans who are desperately trying to survive a chaotic world filled with “walkers” while at the same time fighting different factions who in one way or another have their own agenda.
“The Walking Dead” season 7 is set to premiere on AMC this October.
