'The Walking Dead' Season 6: new photos show tense-looking Andrew Lincoln and Lennie James; Episode 1 synopsis revealed

As the premiere of the sixth season of “The Walking Dead” nears, more and more plot details are being revealed on the Internet. This time, the synopsis for the first episode and more cast photos were released.

According to Comicbook.com, season 6 episode 1 is entitled “First Time Again.” The synopsis states, “Rick and the group are still having trouble assimilating into Alexandria. Will a new threat bring them closer together or drive them further apart?” This could point to the introduction of the new character Negan who is a villain in the comic books or to the “wolves” that were briefly featured in the previous season.

Aside from the release of the synopsis, TV Line has reported that Xander Berkeley (24, Nikita, and Being Human) will play a major role in AMC’s horror drama TV series during the second half of season six. He might also be a series regular by the start of season 7. Although the name of the role remains undisclosed, the report says that the character will be narcissistic, always in control, and have a huge ego.

New set photos from Comics Alliance also reveal an unnamed actor dressed up as a character who looks a lot like Paul “Jesus” Monroe. In the comic books, Jesus is from another group of survivors called Hilltop, which will try to engage in a trade with Alexandria.

Meanwhile, AMC released new cast photos for the sixth season. One of the stills shows Morgan (Lennie James) and Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) exchanging tense looks within the walls of Alexandria. Another photo features Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) preparing guns with the other residents of the safe zone. A still of Carl Grimes and his dad while sitting on a porch and armed are also included.

“The Walking Dead” Season 6 will premiere with a 90-minute episode on October 11, 2015 at 9/8c on Fox.
