The Salvatore brothers will be fighting separate battles against ruthless vampire hunter, Rayna Cruz (Leslie Anne Huff), as they also go through their personal relationship struggles.
In the last episode titled “Postcards from the Edge,” Damon (Ian Somerhalder) admitted to Stefan (Paul Wesley) that he “killed” Elena (Nina Dobrev), which led to Stefan beating him up. However, they would not have the time to properly grieve Elena’s “death” as next episode will mark Rayna’s arrival in Mystic Falls.
According to The Futon Critic, Stefan will be teaming up with Valerie (Elizabeth Blackmore) to devise a plan to save Caroline’s (Candice King) and her babies’ lives. Meanwhile, Enzo (Micahel Malarkey) forces Damon to help him hunt down Rayna in exchange for keeping a secret. Unfortunately, Damon’s half-hearted attempts in hunting Rayna ends up as catastrophic as his action will put everyone he cares about in danger.
On the other hand, fans may presume that Elena’s body and coffin burning may have just dulled the glimmer of hope that they have that Dobrev will still somehow comeback to the show. The show’s executive producer Caroline Dries, peviously revealed that if the show end this season, they will try their best to make sure that Dobrev makes an appearance. However, since the show is still ongoing, she denied that the Canadian actress will be visiting Mystic Falls anytime soon.
Furthermore, The CW has also released the official synopsis for the show’s winter finale titled “I Would For You” which will air March 4. It reads, “While Stefan and Valerie search for a magical herb that can keep Stefan hidden from Rayna, Damon comes up with his own plan to take her down for good. However, while at The Armory, Bonnie (Kat Graham) makes a shocking discovery about Rayna that brings Damon’s plan to a screeching halt. Elsewhere, a conversation with Caroline leaves Stefan questioning their future together, while Matt (Zach Roerig) decides it may be time to truly take a stand against the vampires of Mystic Falls. Finally, as the season’s middle chapter draws to a close, Damon’s desire to take himself out of the game ramps up as he races to complete unfinished business with Stefan and Bonnie.”
“The Vampire Diaries” season 7 airs every Friday, 8 P.M.
