Everyone unites to help Damon (Ian Somerhalder) cope with the consequences of saving Bonnie’s (Kat Graham) life in this week’s “The Vampire Diaries.”
Last week in “Kill ‘Em All“, just when it seems like it will be the end of the vampire huntress Rayna (Leslie-Anne Huff), things turn for the worst as her last life was transferred to Bonnie including her hunter instinct. This effectively turned Damon’s love interest into a vampire seeker herself, thus separating her from the people she loves the most as majority of them are vampires.
In the penultimate episode titled “Requiem for a Dream,” Damon will have to deal with the results of his attempt to save Bonnie, which played a significant role to what she has become. The group doesn’t know how to tackle the situation especially with Bonnie’s new persona, which puts almost all of them in danger when near her. Fortunately, it looks like Damon and company will not be fazed easily as show creator Julie Plec revealed to TV Line that “the rest of the season is a race to save Bonnie, and all of the fallout that comes along with that.”
However, the group’s effort will have a couple of consequences. “It puts everyone in grave danger, and not everyone survives it… at least emotionally,” Plec added.
Spoilers further suggest how everyone will deal with the situation with Enzo (Michael Malarkey) trying to keep it together, and Matt (Zach Roerig) struggling to take it in and deciding to take matters into his own hands.
Stefan (Paul Wesley), on the other hand, will also have to deal with his own lady, as a new threat puts Caroline (Candice King) in danger. Being in a dire situation, the other Salvatore brother will be making a rash decision that will force the two of them to deal with their relationship. However, it will not be an easy process as Plec teased that Caroline is “going to bring a lot of resentment and a barely contained fury directed exactly at Stefan.”
While it may also be an emotional episode for his character in the show, Wesley did double duties as he has also taken the reigns and directed the upcoming installment.
“Vampire Diaries” season 7 airs every Friday night, 8 P.M. EST on The CW.
