Following their downfall, the Mikaelson siblings Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Elijah (Daniel Gillies), and Rebekah (Claire Holt) are nowhere to be seen in New Orleans. The fourth season of “The Originals” opened with a five-year jump wherein Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) resumed as King of New Orleans. Witches and vampires have peacefully co-existed in the city. However, this will not be the case for long.
In the premiere episode of “The Originals” season 4, a vampire named Alistair visited the city. He was looking for Klaus and the rest of the Mikaelsons. Running out of ideas on how to oust the furious vampire, Marcel turned to Klaus, who is currently in chains. It turns out that Klaus is still alive, and he is the only original left in the city.
Alistair faced Klaus with a sword that was wrapped with Marcel’s blood, which can slowly kill the eldest of the Mikaelsons. Alistair told him that he was also off to kill Klaus’ child, Hope. Klaus, filled with anger, bit Alistair to his death along with his legion of vampires.
Unfortunately, Marcel immediately dragged Klaus and sent him back to his dungeon.
Away from New Orleans, Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) was working with a potion that could awaken Elijah, Rebekah, and Freya (Riley Voelkel). Hope’s mother met with Keelin, a member of the seventh original wolf pack. Keelin’s venom was the last ingredient of the potion. Hayley was successful, and she managed to wake up the three Mikaelsons.
However, now that the Mikaelsons have woken up, what will happen next?
“After being cured and woken, the Mikaelson siblings join Hayley in an effort to rescue Klaus from captivity even if they must face Marcel in the process. Meanwhile, Klaus’ demons materialize in unexpected ways as he suffers from the effects of the Tunde Blade, and Vincent (Yusef Gatewood) investigates a haunting that will prove to be much more sinister than he could have imagined,” the synopsis for the upcoming episode reads.
The second episode of “The Originals” season 4 is set to air on March 24 on The CW.
