Production for the fourth season of “The Originals” has been fairly silent over the last couple of weeks up until lead star Joseph Morgan took time out and provided some overdue teasers.
Using his official Instagram account, the actor who plays Klaus in the supernatural drama posted a short clip where he talked about what fans can expect from “The Originals” when it comes back for its forthcoming installment.
“Someone will be betrayed. There will probably be a staking of some kind or another,” he hinted. “Blood will flow. Enemies will become friends, friends will become enemies. Strange and new alliances will be formed.”
To say that Morgan’s statement is interesting is an understatement. It launched a multitude of fan theories as to what he may be pertaining to. But as expected, these speculations will not be confirmed or denied until The CW series comes back on air during the midseason block. Needless to say, a couple of plausible scenarios could coincide with the predicament presented.
One of which is that of Nathaniel Buzolic’s Kol holding some sort of grudge against his oldest brother for murdering the love of his life, Danielle Campbell’s Davina. It can be remembered that last season, the original hybrid plotted a plan to kill the powerful witch which eventually came to fruition. Rumor has it that Kol would still be harboring ill feelings toward Klaus regarding his actions.
Show creator Julie Plec briefly touched upon the complicated subject in a chat with Entertainment Weekly saying that Kol, along with his sister Rebekah (Claire Holt), will question the decisions of their siblings.
“Kol, interestingly enough, is asking himself those same questions. The two of them are going to bond in a way that we haven’t gotten to see so much about what their future is in this family and how much of this crazy they’re expected to live through,” Plec revealed.
No official release date has been set for “The Originals” season 4 which will be the shortest installment thus far with only 13 episodes. The latest installment will be incorporating a five-year time jump which will then pick up on how the Mikaelsons will finally be able to wake up from their half-decade-long slumber.
