Rumors are rife that the highly anticipated sequel to Disney and Pixar’s animated film “The Incredibles” will see the youngest of the superhero family, Jack-Jack as the potential new big bad.
It can be recalled that in the original movie which was released in 2004, Jack-Jack’s powers did not manifest until the end of the narrative. It was then revealed that he had the primary ability to shapeshift and take any form such as metal, fire and presumably other elements.
It is believed that he has a wider set of powers which will be featured in the second film. When his full potential is tapped, Jack-Jack could become the most powerful among the Parr family. However, it remains to be seen if it comes as a blessing or a curse when the times comes that he has to choose between the good or the bad side.
Although details regarding production are being kept under wraps, returning director Brad Bird revealed in a previous interview with Collider that a lot of the crew members who worked on the original entry will be part of the new project. When it comes to the plot, he kept the spoilers at bay but explained that they do not want it to become similar to many superhero movies that hit the big screen nowadays.
“What you don’t want to do is trot over the same turf in the same way everyone else is. So we’re trying to keep it focused in the area that our film was, which was a little bit more about characters and relationships and stuff like that, and see where that takes us. But we’re having a good time,” he elaborated.
Moreover, Samuel L. Jackson also shared his excitement in reprising his role Frozone. The character was introduced as Mr. Incredible/Bob’s loyal friend who was also the best man for his wedding with Helen/Elastigirl.
“The Incredibles” is slated to air on June 21, 2019.
