In just two months, season 4 of the American family drama television series “The Fosters” will be returning to the small screen.

The upcoming season will be highlighting the complicated relationship of Mariana (Ciera Ramirez), Nick (Louis Hunter), and Mat (Jordan Rodrigues), as well as the consequences that Callie (Maia Mitchell) and Brandon (David Lambert) will face after their secret love came to light.

In the finale of season 3, Mariana and Mat were kissing at the party of Brandon. Although they already decided to part ways, it was clear who Mariana’s heart is favoring. On the other hand, Nick was jealous and even hid the letter that Mat sent his former love. Will Mariana find out about this and get angry with Nick? Will Mariana and Mat be back together?

As for Callie and Brandon, the former finally told their mothers about the relationship, as seen in the finale of season 3. In an interview with TVLine prior to the last episode about a month ago, Mitchell hinted that her character is trying to settle the matter in her heart, but the storyline is still expected to continue in season 4.

She explained, “They both know what has to happen, and they’re on the right track with it. It’s just that they will have moments where stuff happens [like in] the garage. It’s bound to happen. But they both know what the priority is.”

Nonetheless, “You see her really try to mend that relationship, but that’s not fully resolved,” Mitchell continued. The actress even teased, “We’re going to have to wait until Season 4 for that one.”

Meanwhile, the official Twitter page of the television show continues to retweet the posts of fans, which are mostly about them looking forward for the show’s fourth run.

“The Fosters” season 4 is expected to premiere on June 20 on Freeform.
