'The Flash' spoilers: Zoom comes to Central City with Rupture

The villains are teaming up in the brand-new installment of CW’s “The Flash” season 2.

Titled “Rupture,” the titular antagonist from Earth-2 comes to Central City with Zoom (Teddy Sears), who is intent on taking over the place. Barry Allen or The Flash (Grant Gustin) and Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) will devise a plan in order to stop him. However, it is deemed to be dangerous.

Uncertain if he really should take the risk, Barry reaches out to both his fathers for some advice. Henry (John Wesley Shipps) will be adamant on opposing the superhero in risking his life again. However, Joe (Jesse Martin) believes that Barry can handle it, putting the two men at odds with each other.

In a sneak peek, it has been revealed that Barry will do the best he can to have his abilities back, “I left this city unprotected, I need my powers back,” he stated. When asked how he will do so, “I need to create a particle accelerator explosion.” But it turns out that the process could potentially kill him.

Meanwhile, Cisco (Carlos Valdes) will be shocked upon finding out that Rupture is in town, who apparently came to Earth seeking justice for Reverb’s death. The character is also the doppelgnger of his brother, Dante (Nicholas Gonzalez). On the other hand, Iris West will (Candice Patton) decide to finally open up to Barry about her feelings for him.

Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg teased to Entertainment Weekly the West-Allen relationship. “This whole season has been about Iris, whether she realizes or not, trying to take a step forward. We couldn’t just slam them together. It would’ve been a disservice to Eddie’s (Rick Cosnett) character and everything that happened between them. We left it on this simmer all season long, and now she should be ready to move on, but she’s starting to feel like the universe is telling her otherwise,” he said.

When prodded if the two will end up together. “You can expect some twists and turns in that. But I think you can expect it to be moving steadily forward,” he replied.

Season 2, episode 20 of “The Flash” is slated to air on Tuesday, May 3.
