'The Flash' Season Two: CW reveals first look at Jay Garrick played by Teddy Sears

The Flash is coming back for another season at full speedand this time, he won’t be alone!

The CW recently revealed the first look at actor Teddy Sears as Jay Garrick during the Television Critics Association’s semi-annual press tour last Tuesday. The image reveal featured a recreation of a classic comic book cover of The Flash, “The Flash of Two Worlds”, where Earth-One Flash Barry Allen meets Earth-Two Flash Jay Garrick. The said reveal paid homage to the Flash #123, September 1961 cover.

The character of Jay Garrick was first teased near the end of the season one finale, where his iconic helmet flew from the wormhole that was supposed to be Eobard Thawne’s way back home. Jay Garrick is known to be the very first speedster in history to take upon himself the name “The Flash”.

In the show’s second season, Jay Garrick comes to Central City in Barry’s time to warn him and his friends of an impending danger that he cannot stop by himself.

Another speedster was previously confirmed to be coming for the second seasonWally West aka the Kid Flash.

According to a report by Entertainment Weekly, Insurgent star Keiynan Lonsdale has been cast as Wally West for season 2, now the third speedster in the show. Lonsdale’s Wally West will take on the character of the Kid Flash.

Much like when actor Grant Gustin got the role of Barry Allen/The Flash, showrunner Andrew Kreisberg revealed that when they first met Lonsdale, they immediately knew that he had it to become the hero that they are looking for.

“Just like when we met Grant [Gustin] for the first time, we instantly knew Keiynan embodied all the heart and courage of a hero,” said EP Kreisberg. “We are so excited to be bringing this much-beloved character onto the show.”

The Flash returns to The CW on October 6.
