Kid Flash is gearing up to make his debut on the streets of Central City in the upcoming season 3 of The CW’s “The Flash.”
Following Barry Allen’s (Grant Gustin) decision to go back in time and save his mother Nora (Michelle Harrison) from being murdered by Reverse-Flash (Tom Cavanagh), he also set up the events leading to the “Flashpoint” arc. As the original timeline has been messed up, Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale) is given the opportunity to become the metropolis’ savior.
According to TV Line, the brand-new speedster will be featured during the premiere aptly titled “Flashpoint.” The plot which was a game-changing point in the DC Comics canon will be fully introduced, with Barry no longer the Scarlett Speedster.
Lonsdale recently confirmed the news on Twitter and announced, “Kid Flash is coming.” Fellow cast member Danielle Panabaker also excitedly shared the character’s transition from being a normal college student to a metahuman superhero, “Cannot wait 2 c @KeiynanLonsdale as Kid Flash! Season 3 is going to be fantastic & we are so lucky to have Keiynan,” she tweeted.
Meanwhile, Gizmodo notes that leaked images from the production set reveal another speedster presumably wreaking havoc in town. The mysterious character is clad in all black adorned with lighting design in orange and yellow.
Aside from Tom Felton joining the ensemble, as someone from CIA who believes Barry has more to his story than being just a good guy, details about additional casting have not been unveiled yet.
Comic Book Resources speculates that if based from the original materials, some of the probable new big bad could be among John Fox, Savitar, The Black Flash/The Black Racer, Johnny Quick, Future Flash, Danny West, Hunter Zoloman, or Pollux. However, it remains to be seen if it comes to fruition.
Season 3 of “The Flash” premieres on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 8 p.m. ET.
