Upcoming new installment for season 2 of The CW’s “The Flash” will have more superheroes crossing universes to help each other in defeating a new villain.
Titled “King Shark,” episode 15 will have Diggle (David Ramsey) and Lila (Audrey Marie Anderson) from “Arrow” going to Central City to take on the the titular antagonist with the rest of the gang.
The synopsis reads, “When King Shark escapes from an A.R.G.U.S. holding tank, Lila and Diggle travel to Central City to warn The Flash (Grant Gustin). King Shark shows up at the West house and attacks Joe (Jesse L. Martin), Iris (Candice Patton), Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) and Barry.” Hanelle Culpepper directed the episode while it was penned by Benjamin Raab and Deric Hughes.
King Shark has followed the two-part special that featured Zoom to be the one wreaking havoc as fans get to know more about Barry’s doppelgnger from Earth-2.
In last week’s episode, Team Flash turned to CSI Earth-2 Barry to lead the way in finding out where the Earth-1 Barry is after the latter has been captured by Zoom. Through the mission, the former has been depicted as pretty skillful, resourceful, entertaining and hilarious at times, although he is bit uptight. His relationship with Iris (Candice Patton) was also given focus.
DC Comics fans also saw many Easter eggs during the installment such as Hal and Diana’s names on Barry’s speed dial and even Mayor Snart.
Collider asked executive producers Aaron and Todd Helbing how they decided on which interesting elements to put on the screen, “We had a giant board of probably 50 ideas and we had to whittle them down to the bare bones,” the former said.
“You try to make them as organic as possible. We would tell you [the easter eggs that didn’t make the cut] but they’ll probably end up in other episodes,” Todd added.
Season 2’s episode 15 of “The Flash” is slated to air on Feb. 23 at 8 P.M. EST.
