In the most recent episode of “The Flash,” Team Flashor at least two of themwent to Earth 2 to rescue Harry Wells’ daughter Jesse. The trip did not end up as expected, but a few Easter Eggs were dropped here and there. With the events that happened, how will Barry escape the clutches of the villainous speedster Zoom?
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, “The Flash” executive producers Todd Helbing and Aaron Helbing talked about what to expect in the next episode, “Escape From Earth 2,” as well as what other Easter Eggs are still waiting to be spotted by fans in future episodes.
Because of the danger that threatens both Earth 1 Barry Allen and Harry Wells’ Earth 2, members of Team Flash on both Earths seem to have their hands full in the upcoming episode.
“The central story is Barry is trapped by Zoom, how do we deal with that?” shared Todd Helbing. “And back on Earth-1, Geomancer is out there. The Flash is locked up in a cell, so they really don’t have a way to deal with him now that they’re Flash-less. They have to come up with a new plan and we get to see somebody step up to the plate. Caitlin’s been working on the Velocity drug and Jay is adamant against taking it, but with no other choice, we’ll see Earth-2 Jay Garrick be the hero we know he can be. Cisco and Wells are trying to come up with a plan on how to get Barry out of the predicament he’s in. They seek out help from somebody that you would never expect and they do their best to set up this rescue mission.”
Todd and Aaron also revealed that while the episode was full of Easter Eggsone of them was how the names of Hal Jordan, Diana Prince, and Bruce Wayne were revealed all on Earth 2 Barry Allen’s home phone speed dialthere were actually at least fifty Easter Eggs planned for the episode, with the ones not included in the episode expected to be teased in future episodes of the show.
