For the second season of “The Flash,” fans were treated to a barrage of speedsters who joined the character of Barry Allen in the show. While only Barry Allenplayed by Grant Gustinis the only active speedster hero right now, two other characters might join Barry in his superhero adventures, leaving the possibility of having not only one but three different personas of The Flash! However, the team up, though possible, may still be too far from happening, at least according to the show’s executive producers.
Aside from the hero speedsters, there are still also the villains who possess the same abilities as that of Barry Allenfirst and foremost is the Reverse Flash, who recently made his return to Barry’s timeline. Another villain is Zoom, the season’s current major villain from Earth 2. There is also the Earth 1 counterpart of Jay Garrick, who was revealed to be named Hunter Zolomon, a possible Easter Egg to a bigger character in the future.
Likewise, there is Wally West, who was introduced in the middle of the season. Though Wally has no powers yet in the show, his character in the comics used to be Kid Flash who eventually took over Barry Allen as The Flash.
Series executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said that a dream team with Barry Allen, Jay Garrick, and Wally West may be far from happening right now.
“I guess that could happen down the road,” Kreisberg told Entertainment Weekly. “I wouldn’t want to say no, but so much of that stuff is a little bit further into the future than we’ve planned for right now.”
Kreisberg likened Wally’s development to Roy Harper in “Arrow.” Roy had been in the show as early as season 1, but only started his road to being a hero in the middle of season 2, and eventually got his full costume in season 3.
“The Flash” airs Tuesdays on The CW.
