'The Flash' season 2 news: Andrew Kreisberg discusses Earth-1 Kara, teases new doppelganger

There are two things about the current season of “The Flash” nowone is that Supergirl might not be able to visit Barry Allen’s Earth, at least not in the foreseeable future, and the other is that fans will get to see yet another Earth 2 doppelganger of a popular and much loved character from Earth 1.

The current season of “The Flash” brought the characters as well as the fans to a whole new worldin more ways than one. From the concept of time travel in season 1, the show pushed further and introduced the concept of multiverses and parallel Earths. There were the Earth 2 versions of almost all the characters, including Harrison Wells, Caitlyn Snow’s Killer Frost, Cisco’s Reverb villainous version, and the villain Zoom. Then, there was The Flash’s recent encounter with Kara Danvers, the Supergirl from a faraway Earth that Barry Allen got lost into while increasing his speed.

With that, fans have been very eager for more of Kara Danvers in the world of “The Flash”which opened the idea for an Earth 1 Kara doppelganger from the Team Flash to meet somehow. Unfortunately, the producers have not yet considered that possibility.

In a recent interview with TVLine, “The Flash” and “Supergirl” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg talked about Kara being on Earth 1 and a surprise doppelganger character that fans are yet to see in the show.

“We hadn’t [considered that],” said Kreisberg, talking about the Kara Earth 1 possibility. Apparently, Kara would always be a Kryptoniansomething that is not yet existent in the world of “The Flash.” “Any Kara that exists on Earth-1 would also have to have been an alien it can’t just be ‘Kara Danvers from Poughkeepsie.'”

However, fans would not be left without anything to have fun with. According to Kreisberg, there would be one more doppelganger that will have an interesting appearance.

“But that’s the fun of the multiverse,” he added. “We have a really, exciting, fun doppelganger coming up in the penultimate episode of Flash that we haven’t announced yet that’s another [instance] of, ‘That’ll be really cool.'”

Additionally, John Wesley Shipp’s Henry Allen is set to have another appearance before the second season ends.

“The Flash” will return with a new episode on April 19.
