As the new season of The Flash gets closer and closer to its premiere, the Blu-Ray edition of the season one of The Flash features a deleted scene where Barry Allen (played by Grant Gustin) and Detective Joe West (played by Jesse L. Martin) are talking about a series of unusual cases when Joe suddenly dropped a huge Easter Egg for one popular DC Comics character.
Entertainment Weekly got their hand early on the Pilot episode deleted scene. The deleted scene ran for a little more than one minute, and it depicts a scenario where Barry just arrived back on Central City after his trip to Starling City where he met Oliver Queen and the team.
As Barry tells Joe his story of a “man who can bend steel with his bare hands”which refers to the Mikakuru-powered thug that broke into a Queen Consolidated propertyJoe countered the story with his own case of strange events. According to him, one of the cases he was working on recently involved a trip to Amnesty Bay to check on reports of a man who can talk to fisha very strong tease that Aquaman used to be a part (or is he still, in the future?) of The CW universe of DC Comics superheroes.
However, a reference and/or hint such as that in the deleted scene was never attempted again throughout the entire Season One.
For the show’s much anticipated second season, The CW recently released the first set of promotional stills for the season premiere episode of The Flash, titled “The Man Who Saved Central City.”
In the set of photos, Barry Allen/The Flash can be seen facing Captain Cold and Heatwave once more, as well as the Atom-Smasher. It can also be seen that The Flash is now some sort of celebrity, with fan shirts and merchandised inspired by himpossibly after he saves Central City from a possible obliteration in the final moments of the Season 1 finale.
The Flash returns to The CW on October 6.
