'The Elder Scrolls 6' release date update: still no word from Bethesda about the title's status

Since the game’s absence at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), game developer Bethesda Softworks has remained mum for the longest time regarding the sixth installment of “The Elder Scrolls” series.

However, it was also during the same event that the game developer teased fans by giving a bit of information about the long awaited game and said that they are indeed working on another “The Elder Scrolls” title but they didn’t want to spill the beans any further than that.

Fans might recall that rumors have been spinning around during that time that Bethesda would be finally announcing “The Elder Scrolls VI.” However, the lack of any substantial announcement left fans frustrated and some even angered.

During E3 2016, chief game creator for Bethesda, Todd Howard, was also interviewed at YouTube’s booth and was asked about “The Elder Scrolls VI.” Howard responded on a positive note but further explained that due to the current technology and tools in developing such titles, he said that it could take some time before they could launch such ambitious game.

Furthermore, there was a video that was posted over two months ago about the much hyped title. The six-minute clip shows some sort of memo addressed to Bethesda’s employees informing them about the titles that they are about to release in the years to come. The list of titles include “Fallout 4,” “Fallout 4: Nuka World,” and even the much talked about “The Elder Scrolls VI.” These mentioned titles were listed onto the said memo which was supposedly issued two years ago, on May 16, 2014.

The narrator of the video also mentioned that “The Elder Scrolls VI” will be set in one of Tamriel’s smaller provinces known as Valenwood. However, since these mentioned are just speculations, fans should be taking these with a grain of salt.
