Casey Jones won’t be what comic fans expect when the character appears in “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows,” according to the “Arrow” star Stephen Amell.
In an interview with IGN, he said, “He is not the Casey Jones that a lot of comic fans have come to know and love. He is a guy with a job that lives in New York and loves hockey. When things go awry, [and] when he goes through the normal methods of what someone would do when they’re [a] law-abiding citizen and he’s met with laughter and scorn … he decides to take things into his own hands.”
In the comics, Casey Jones already exhibited violent and erratic behavior even when he was still young after a criminal group killed his parents. But it appears that Casey in the film will have a different origin although he will still be known as the hero with the hockey sticks. He won’t be a vigilante until he reaches adulthood when he doesn’t trust the police anymore. He will be the love interest of April O’Neil (Megan Fox) in the movie.
There is not much detailed information leaked yet for the upcoming movie but an official trailer was already released and a scene shows Casey running into April as she is chased by bad guys and saves her.
“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows” is an American action comedy film directed by Dave Green. The voice and motion-capture performers for the four ninja turtles are Alan Ritchson as Raphael, Noel Fisher as Michelangelo, Jeremy Howard as Donatello and Johnny Knoxville as Leonardo.
It will hit theaters on June 3, 2016.
