'Teen Wolf' season 6 latest news: Casting confusion cleared up by show creator Jeff Davis

“Teen Wolf” season 6 has been embroiled in a bunch of hearsays these past few months especially with Dylan O’Brien’s character Stiles. A casting call that is assumed to be for the actor’s photo double has been recently rolled out causing speculation that O’Brien will sit out the upcoming installment.

The announcement was made by film and TV casting firm Sande Alessi via their official Facebook page. The detailed description of what the company is looking for has made it easier for fans to think that the show will use a body double instead of O’Brien to continue production. It can be remembered that the 24-year-old actor suffered an on-set accident earlier this year while filming “The Maze Runner: The Death Cure.” While the injuries were said to be non-life-threatening, it will take him longer than expected to heal and even causing the flick to halt production and delay the release date.

Because of this, “Teen Wolf” followers have started to wonder whether the actor has healed enough to be able to come back and film for the MTV show. O’Brien is pivotal to the new season as creator Jeff Davis has previously teased that more attention will be drawn towards Stiles and his budding love affair with Lydia (Holland Roden).

Fortunately, Davis has come forward and cleared the air with the confirmation that they are not planning to replace O’Brien. Furthermore, he also spilled that the rising star will suit back up to reprise his role Stiles very soon.

“No, we aren’t replacing Stiles. Dylan O’Brien will be back to film soon. he can’t do any stunts and we’re talking with Wes Ball, the producer of ‘The Maze Runner,’ we hope to get him back on ‘Teen Wolf’ to film, while being injured, but the thing is, he wants to film, he’s in perfect condition. But he’s just not doing fine enough to do any stunts,” the producer explained to Creative 132 when pressed about the matter.

The only question remaining now is how soon is Davis talking about? Reports have been surfacing that the cast is scheduled to make an appearance in the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con next month. And if O’Brien makes it on time, he might also don the stage in the event and even participate in a panel. Furthermore, rumor has it that “Teen Wolf” will also be bringing the first look for the brand new season as a treat for the attendees.

“Teen Wolf” has yet to have an official premiere date.
