Working around the unavailability of Dylan O’Brien in the last couple of months may have proved to be a tall order. However, “Teen Wolf” creator Jeff Davis and the rest of the cast and crew were able to seamlessly incorporate his absence into the storyline. Now, the actor who portrays Stiles is reportedly ready to come back to production starting this month.
This latest development was reported by Teen Wolf News as they exclusively chatted with Davis regarding the show’s production schedule. The cast and crew of the MTV supernatural series are tipped to come back to set after a bit of a hiatus to film some finishing touches on the first 10 episodes of the show’s last season. Originally, the callback date was supposed to be in August, but O’Brien was still healing from the accident he met earlier this year.
It can be remembered that the young actor was involved in an on-set mishap while filming “Maze Runner: The Death Cure” in Toronto, Canada last March. His injuries were initially deemed as non-life-threatening but he still had to recuperate for a long period of time. More recently, it was revealed that O’Brien almost died from the incident as revealed by his “American Assassin” film producer, Lorenzo di Bonaventura.
O’Brien’s involvement in the forthcoming season of “Teen Wolf” is marred by his physical inability to be in the show, which will be explained by him being wiped out from the memories of the people who love him.
“We’ve had seasons where there’s just bodies dropping everywhere, and we wanted to do something frightening but different,” Davis pondered. “What’s scarier than death? Being forgotten. Being completely erased.”
The upcoming plot point was already teased by the new poster for the show, featuring both Stiles and Tyler Posey’s Scott being separated by a bolt of lightning.
“Teen Wolf’s” sixth and final season premieres on Nov. 15 and will continue to air every Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET on MTV.
