Throughout the five seasons of MTV’s “Teen Wolf,” it has gathered a large fan following around the world. With the return of the second half of the fifth season in January 2016, news about the sixth season and possible spinoffs are already circulating the Internet.
During the New York Comic Con, the trailer for season 5b was released. In the trailer, Stiles (Dylan O’Brien) and Scott (Tyler Posey) can be seen fighting each other. Moreover, Theo (Cody Christian) seems to be offering a truce to Scott as they face a mutual enemy. “Your pack and mine, we’re going to be fighting for our lives,” said Theo. Meanwhile, Chris Argent (J.R. Bourne) appears as Malia tells Scott (Shelley Hennig) that they are going to die while facing a deadly monster.
In an interview, showrunner Jeff Davis revealed that the end of the fifth season will be very big unlike the cliffhanger ending of the first half. “It will be Scott and his pack back together. We wanted to end on a down note [with 5a]. This was our kind of like ‘Empire Strikes Back’ ending. We were very clear about wanting to have a real midpoint low in the middle of this season. I’m pretty sure though, for Season 6, we may go back to our separate storylines. If it’s 10 and 10, we may probably do separate storylines for each,” Davis explained.
He also mentioned that he is preparing to lose O’Brien because he is “such a movie star these days.” Davis said that he is preparing to lose the actor at some point despite the heat that he may receive from the fans.
For those who are concerned about the tone of 5b, the showrunner confirmed that there will be more action and humor in the upcoming season. The fans will be able to enjoy a more optimistic and hopeful show.
According to Movieweb, new episodes of “Teen Wolf” will air every Tuesday at 9:00 P.M. ET/PT starting January 5, 2016.
