'Teen Wolf' season 5 updates: Theo's motives for helping with Lydia's rescue under scrutiny; Lydia's power to be season's game changer?

Stiles, Scott, and Theo will go on a mission to save Lydia from Eichen House when “Teen Wolf” returns for a two-part premiere of season 5B.

Based on the promo released by the show, Theo is shown offering Stiles and Scott help in getting the banshee out of the mental facility although for yet unclear reasons.

However, Theo’s eagerness to extend his assistance is met with suspicion as Stiles and Scott both feel that there is more to his “concern” than the simple kindness of his heart, Design and Trend reported.

“Maybe, he probably thinks what we’re all thinking… that Lydia’s got something bigger to do with this, and may be she’s the only one who could actually save us,” Scott told Stiles as soon as Theo is out of earshot in the teaser released.

Executive producer Jeff Davis, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, acknowledged that Lydia will have a very big role in the future episodes of the show, which will be established by the two-episode, Lydia-centric storyline.

“Her finding her power is critical to the season. That’s why we decided to make episodes 15 and 16 a two-part episode around her, which is the breaking-Lydia-out-of-Eichen episode,” he said.

He explained that they have been following a structured storytelling method for season 5 and that things are happening in stages.

Davis likewise mentioned that they started rebuilding the friendship between Stiles and Scott in episodes 11 and 12 and steadily worked towards getting the group together.

“Episodes 11 and 12 are about getting Stiles back and rebuilding that friendship, and then episode 13, they journey out to the desert to get Kira back. Episode 14 is trying to pull Malia back into the pack, and by then, Scott has found that one of the most important ones to him is Liam, and he’s got to figure out a way to repair his relationship with Liam, who tried to kill him,” Davis quipped.

Episode 15, titled “Amplification,” will air on Feb. 2 on MTV.
