Things will get more intense as “Teen Wolf” nears its season finale. In the latest episode of the Jeff Davis created series, Scott (Tyler Posey) and the rest of his gang made a last ditch effort to save Lydia (Holland Roden). Stiles (Dylan O’Brien) and Scott told Malia (Shelley Henning) and Liam (Dylan Sprayberry) about their plan to break into the Eichen house, but it did not go as easy as planned as the lockdown trapped Scott, Liam, Kira (Arden Cho), and Malia inside.
Season 5 seems to be Lydia centric, and the development had long been overdue given that in the past four seasons, she always seemed to be the one suffering from tragedy after tragedy. Now, her importance in the overall story is starting to be highlighted.
“She has the supernatural power and she’s also not too much in the midst of the pack — she has a bit of a birds-eye view, not only because of her banshee power but because she hasn’t been around for a while. And she’s had so much loss around her. I mean, my God, she cannot keep a boyfriend alive [and she lost] her best friend, so I think that puts her in a good position to truly lead the pack home,” creator Davis told Entertainment Weekly.
While the actress, Roden, mirrored the sentiments of Davis, saying that her character is definitely one of the main probes in season 5, she also teased on Lydia and Stiles’ relationship going forward.
“They grow closer just based off the fact that they’ve been through so much together. I think there are important key moments between Lydia and Stiles that fans will definitely appreciate,” Roden told Hollywood Life.
In the next episode titled “Lie Ability,” airing on Feb. 9, Scott and his pack will try to exhaust all options to finally sneak Lydia out on top of dealing with Theo (Cody Christian) and the Chimera pack.
